What’s a piece of technology you’re convinced will exist in 20 years?
I think we’ll have glasses that instantly translate languages, identify plants and wildlife, and guide us through nature. But I’ll still choose a campfire, fresh air, and a sky full of stars at Feather & Fern. 🌿🏕️
What’s a chapter of your life you’d title “The Hard Years” — and what got you through it?
Losing my dad, saying goodbye to my best mate Fibi, surviving trauma, and rebuilding my life after years of caring for others tested me in every way.
What got me through? Nature, my animals, hope, and refusing to give up. Feather & Fern became more than a place—it became my healing.
The hard years changed me, but they didn’t break me. They taught me that even after the darkest nights, the sun still rises.

What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?
Sometimes life asks more of us than we ever think we can give.
My last home was meant to be my forever place. It was where I poured my heart into caring for my rescued birds and animals. They weren’t just pets—they were my family. Every one of them had a story, a personality, and a place in my heart.
Instead of enjoying the peaceful life I had dreamed of, I found myself constantly battling council complaints and endless pressure about my birds. It felt like every step forward was met with another obstacle. I spent countless hours fighting for the animals I loved, trying to prove that all I wanted was to give them a safe, happy home.
There were days I wanted to give up.
But I didn’t.
I kept believing there had to be somewhere we truly belonged.
That journey led me to Feather & Fern.
Today, I wake to birdsong instead of worry. The gum trees sway in the breeze, kangaroos visit, the stars shine brightly each night, and my birds can live happily in the peaceful surroundings they deserve.
Every challenge, every tear, every setback brought me here.
Feather & Fern isn’t just a camping property.
It’s a place built on resilience, hope, healing, and second chances.

Many people think happiness comes from what you have. I believe true happiness comes from peace, gratitude, nature, and sharing life’s journey with those who matter most
A common misconception is that happiness comes from having more money, more possessions, or a perfect life.
For me, happiness is much simpler.
It’s watching the sunrise over the dam, listening to the birds sing, growing food from the earth, caring for animals, sharing a laugh with loved ones, and finding peace in nature.
True happiness isn’t something we find someday—it’s something we create by appreciating the little moments every day. 💚

What are the most important things needed to live a good life?
Watching the sunrise, caring for my animals, spending time with loved ones, helping others, and being grateful for each day reminds me that happiness often comes from the simple things. Life may not always be easy, but finding beauty in everyday moments makes it worthwhile ❤️
Who do you spend the most time with?
The ones I spend the most time with don’t always speak with words. They greet me each morning, follow me around the yard, make me laugh, and bring comfort on difficult days.
Cocky, Wywy, Noni, Georgie, Stormy, Pepi, The Girls, and the Duckies are more than animals—they are family. They remind me to slow down, enjoy the little things, and appreciate the beauty of each day.

If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?
Like a willow tree, I have weathered many storms, yet I continue to grow. I am an animal lover, a dreamer, a creator, and a believer in second chances. My greatest happiness comes from caring for the creatures around me, creating beautiful things, and sharing the peace and magic of Feather & Fern with others. Every sunrise brings a new opportunity to begin again.
